ABOUT THE OKSSDK

Our Humble Beginnings
The Seijitsu Shin Do Kan Kyokai was founded as an in house organization in 2006 simply to serve as our organization to issue ranking to our students and has grown to serve as more than that.
The Seijitsu Shin Do Kan is meant to preserve the true ways of karate do. With so many martial arts schools opening up in today’s society it is our job to do thing honestly and from the heart. Not motivated by money but recognize students by their efforts not their pocketbook. Seijitsu means honest / truthful (誠実), shin means heart (心), do means way or path (道), kan means place or house (館), and kyokai means association (協会). We strive to create an atmosphere that welcomes anyone with a good heart with good intentions like being welcomed into our home like family.

Our Purpose
Our purpose is fairly simple and direct but deep and meaningful at the same time. We have created a nonprofit corporation to allow us to better serve the community as a whole. Our first goal is to help those who does not have the financial means to train in martial arts but they have the desire to learn and can benefit from the training. This means anyone of good moral character and a strong work ethic may be able to take advantage of our help.
Our second purpose is to be able to preserve and pass on traditional Okinawan Karate Do as our president promised to Seifuku Nitta, Hanshi / 10th Dan three weeks before he passed away in 2012. Nitta Sensei was concerned about karate being taught correctly with the true benefits being realized by its students. Keeping true to the Okinawan standards and preserving this cultural treasure for future generations.
Our third purpose is to be able to purchase a building to house the headquarters dojo to many years to come and hopefully beyond our years for our black belts to carry on.

Nitta Sensei was one of the most influential Sensei we have ever had the pleasure of working with. The short time we had with him was greatly impactful and we will always be grateful for his openness and willingness to share his knowledge.
